From July 8 to 10, 2024, VisionChina 2024 (Shanghai), hosted by Machine Vision Industry Union of ZGC(CMVU) and organized by Messe Muenchen Shanghai Co., Ltd., successfully concluded at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. Bustling with activity, the event reflected the dynamic atmosphere of international exchange between the exhibitors and visitors in the machine vision world. AI foundation model, general machine vision, and the industrial metaverse became common topics of discussion among the participants. The application of AI+ vision system continues to drive rapid advancements in the industry. This year， the exhibition area reached a new high of 30,000 square meters, featuring nearly 300 domestic and foreign exhibitors and attracting a total of 75,423 visitors during the event.

Space Expansion，Witness the Rapid Industry Development
VisionChina has grown from waddle inception in 2004 to an internationally renowned event. It’s our pleasure to in collaboration with well-known enterprises to witness the twenty years' growth and metamorphosis of the industry. The exhibition has expanded to two full halls (E1 and E2), offering more space for display and communication. The event introduced more displays about applications along the vertical industry chain, such as consumer electronics, intelligent manufacturing, high-end equipment, and automation equipment ,etc. The exhibition showcased the latest technologies and trends, creating a grand "carnival" of machine vision. Mr. Sha Yiwen, the President of Messe Muenchen Shanghai Co., Ltd., stated: "VisionChina was founded in 2004. This year marks its 20th anniversary. We are honored to have witnessed its growth from the early stages of the machine vision industry to becoming a leading exhibition in China and Asia. The exhibition featured industry leaders such as Baumer, OPT, Canrill, Jiali, Cognex, LINX, SinceVision, 4D Vision, Linkhou, Mindvision, Brigates Microelectronics, COOLENS, Vision-Light, SICK, Xinsuan, and others (in no particular order). They showcased innovative products across core machine vision components, accessories, system software, and equipment, providing a professional platform for connecting the technology suppliers with industrial users like industrial electronics, automotive electronics, consumer electronics, electronic engineering, industrial inspection, intelligent logistics, and intelligent manufacturing.
Innovation is key to technological progress. At this exhibition, the organizer set up the "Showcase For Machine Vision Innovation Products" in Hall E2, where release TOP 10 innovation products of the year which selected by “Machine Vision Innvation Awards”, covered light sources, lenses, cameras, visual inspection equipment, visual software, and accessories. These exhibits illuminated the future of industrial intelligence, and attracted visitors engaging deeply with the exhibitors on how machine vision technology can empower traditional industries and promote higher- level manufacturing development.

Industry Elites Discuss the Future Trends of Machine Vision and AI in Consumer Electronics and New Energy
The Innovation Forum, a highlight of VisionChina2024 (Shanghai), was crowded as always. Held in Hall E2, the two-day "Vision+AI Empowers High-quality Development for Consumer Electronics" main forum featured industry experts showcasing the latest achievements in machine vision and AI technology in consumer electronics. Technological advancements have led to significant improvements in industrial cameras' resolution, frame rate, and stability, supporting automated production and quality inspection in consumer electronics. The increasing use of foundation models in image recognition, speech recognition, and natural language processing has enhanced product intelligence. However, challenges such as data security, privacy, and cost reduction remain focal points for the industry. Entrepreneurs shared insights and suggestions to address these challenges through cooperation and communication, guiding the future development of the consumer electronics industry.
This year's Innovation Forum also featured a brand-new special sub-forum in Hall E1. The "Future Technology of the Electronics Industry" sub-forum on the first day brought together elites in the electronics manufacturing industry. The participating experts reach a consensus that automation technology would play an increasingly core role in electronics manufacturing, especially in intelligent and flexible manufacturing. It will bring unprecedented flexibility and efficiency. However, the rapid pace of technological upgrades and talent shortages also pose significant challenges for enterprises, thus the way towards industrial intelligence and automation is going to need more time.
The "Innovative applications of AI Vision, operation control, and robots in the new energy industry" sub-forum held on July 9 drew significant attention from industry insiders. This cutting-edge technology exchange platform featured experts from diverse fields who shared compelling case studies on the innovative use of AI vision and robotics technology in the new energy sector. Through real-world examples, the experts vividly illustrated how these technologies help new energy companies achieve substantial improvements in production efficiency, significant cost reductions, and deep optimization. In the current global context of striving for the "dual carbon" goal, the application of these technologies not only promotes energy transformation but also plays a crucial role in advancing green and sustainable development.
